As an animal shelter, we have a variety of needs and offer a number of positions for volunteers to choose from. Volunteers can give as much or as little time as they’d like, with no minimum requirement for hours.

Check out some of our open volunteer roles:

• Clerical / Reception Desk

  • Calling all social butterflies! We’re seeking real go-getters, who can be confident answering phones, directing visitors and offering administrative support as needed.
     

• General Cleaning / Laundry

  • If you love to keep things clean and tidy, we’d love to have your help! This role is best suited for those who don’t mind getting their hands dirty. Cleaning ranges from dishes to laundry.
     

• Property Maintenance

  • Do you love the smell of freshly cut grass? Or maybe you just really love being able to build things with your own two hands? If you have a knack for carpentry or landscaping, we have a job for you! Our facilities volunteers help us keep this place looking its best. Responsibilities include general grounds keeping and handiwork in/around the building.
     

• Events Coordination

  • Do you consider yourself the life of the party? Join in on the fun at one of our annual events! The needs of this particular role will vary depending on the type of event and season. Those who sign on should anticipate assisting with the set up and breakdown of the event. Expect to coordinate with staff and other volunteers, engage with the public and proudly represent PAWS!

 

All volunteers must be 16 years old to volunteer without a parent.

All dog walkers must be 18 years of age.
